Redvers’s history

Collection

Homesteaders began settling the Redvers district in the 1890s, when British and French families took up land. In the first decade of the 20th century Danish families arrived too, making the district Saskatchewan's only specifically Danish settlement area. The Dannevirke Lutheran congregation was organized in 1923, and French-speaking residents made Redvers part of a group of French-speaking communities in the southeast. The Roman Catholic parish of Notre-Dame-de-Fatima was organized in 1950.
